It was launched in 1969 by the Government of India.
The primary objectives of NSS are:
NSS volunteers, often university or college students, participate in various community service projects, including tree planting, blood donation camps, health and hygiene awareness, educational initiatives, and more. Participation in NSS not only contributes to the betterment of society but also helps students develop leadership skills, teamwork, and a strong sense of social responsibility. It is a valuable program that encourages youth to be active agents of positive change in their communities.
